Early Versions/PlanningDuring the early stages of this project, I created about four to five thumbnails that could potentially be used for my project. All of the thumbnails that I created I could've used but then examined the requirements again and realized a whole different idea. This was a whole collage of photos then a strip saying all the the necessary information that needed to be included. During this process we had to analyze different program of studies to see what the client is exactly looking for when seeing it. Some plans that were shown were very cheesy and the client wants a more professional look to demonstrate Morristown High School's academic offerings. After I completed my preliminary sketches, I went into photo shop and started to create my plan. The first version that I created was okay, but the critiques I got from my classmates helped tremendously improve my project. Some critiques that I received were....

Final VersionThe display on the left is my final version of the program of studies. This version is very different from my first version because of the photo layout. After I read all the critiques I got, I decided that I am going to just align pictures right next to each other to make a collage. By doing this, I filled all of the empty space shown in the first version. I cropped multiple images to get them to be the correct size so I could put them in. Additionally, I used the text tool and the character settings and made the text more spaced out and didn't bunch everything together. This gives it a more professional look. To make this happen the use of the crop tool and other tools in Indesign made it flow to be one piece.

Reflection
For this project, it was a good lesson. This was at least my first project where potentially you could have a client. When you are designing something for a client, you are designing it for them so you have to do what they say basically. I think that during this project, I followed the guidelines and what was expected out of this project. I think that also I did a good job with taking my critiques and applying them to my project to make them better. What I would've done differently is to do more research and come up with more layouts. Even though it seemed to me that eight outlines was a lot, if I had more to choose from it could be better. Also I could've made a more sophisticated design to present. I think that my time management during this project was okay. I definitely did talk to my peers and got off track a couple times, but I always handed in my work on time and finished it by the assigned due date. I think that this project was very good to do because of the learning points that we covered during it.
